carbon and plants

does carbon in filter (like in a canister filter) have any effect on live plants?

is the carbon even needed for everyday use?
 
Being as most of the things plants want are inorganic, they're not going to be affected by AC. If you're dosing chelated metals, there is a chance it may have an effect, but I doubt it would be significant (my opinion as a hobbyist and a chemist). But it probably won't be an issue because.....


Carbon is not needed for day to day use.
