Hi all,

do I need the carbon filter in my Fluval Edge 23ltr ?? It is being changed every 3 weeks but on reading on the internet, using water conditioner when doing my weekly water changes means you don't really need the carbon :confused::confused:

Will it harm my tank if I remove the carbon section, any thoughts anyone please???

Regards :fish2:

It's only really needed If you need to rove any meds that you treat your tank with. It's fine to remove the carbon.

Ok removed carbon section in the filter, lets see how it goes.

IME if you have a lot of tanks in your home like I do Carbon does cut down on the earthy, fishy smell though. If not you can probably go w/o it. :)
