Catapillar like creature

I found this thing in my tank it's about a cm long, pink and has hair like things all over it

Sounds like a bristleworm to me though based on your description.

Bristleworms are actually good for your tank, just be careful not to touch them as they can hurt you.

I agree with Neilan, check the link in my signature and see if you can ID it using the picture they show.

EDIT: Looks like he beat me to it. Wolf, their bristles are full of venom/poison, can't remember the proper term, but if you touch it, a few will stick your skin and they apparently hurt pretty bad. Not strong enough to really do anything to you besides a rash or redness, but very very painful.

Yeah definitely a bristle worm good thing I was half tempted to poke him what do they do for the tank

They scavenge for scraps of uneaten food and can fit in the most rediculous places to get at it, so they are very conveniant to have.

ouch im a little glad ima freshie dude yet im in the plannin stage for a reef tank
