I don't think a cover is necessary unless you're concerned with evaporation.. What are you running for filters or air?

Canister filter and flexible bubble wand set into the gravel. I'll skip the cover and see what happens.

Framing on the cave is done. Placeholder stick for the driftwood support beam. The hoses are there so I can run light wiring, air, and filter intake and return, they'll be covered in foam and trimmed off when its all finished.

Slightly modified image, intend to copy this design for the stand and canopy.

Thanks for the tip. Do I need a cover at all you think? Worried a little about splashes onto the light fixture, but the waterline is going to be 2-3 inches below the top so maybe that's not an issue.

Double check your stocking plan for fish when the time comes to make sure you don't add any jumpers! After some bad investments on the stock market my Yoyo Loach took the big leap through the filter cut out on the hood of my tank... He will be missed.

Your tank is gonna be epic!

Step 2 done, foam in place. Next I'll carve into the form to get the desired shape and texture, then apply the concrete skin.

Thought I would post pics in progress for anyone wanting to do it also. Assuming it works! Ha-ha.

I'm so excited about your project! I was looking into making a 3D background. The foam you're using is cool! *following!*
