If there is tissue recession and skeleton showing, algae can easily grow.

Looks like bleaching, or something white dropped in there. Keep an eye on it, if it starts to get bigger, you'll want to cut it out.

How long have you had it? Have there been any recent changes? What are your parameters? How about your alk level?
I have had if for a little over a year no tissue recession nor any bleaching alkalinity is steady at 8 and my calcium sits right around 420 I will try sucking the bubbles of today

Have there been any recent changes? Anything else showing such in the tank? It does look like some bleaching to me...might not have to cut it off yet but I'd keep it in the cards if it spreads.
