this plant was labeled 4 leaf clover at my LFS
i have seen two different plants labeled 4 leaf clover online...

Marsilea crenata (a foreground plant)

Marsilea quadrafolia (a back drop plant)

which one do i have? (so far plant is only couple of inches tall, so i think it is the first one, but just thought i would get a confirmation)

As I understand it, there is some scientific naming confusion as far as the Four Leaf Clover goes. While the same plant it often gets refered to by several different scientific names. Not sure if this is due to the name being changed and lots of people still using the original name or what. Either way you should have the same plant. What you currently have is emersed growth, which will slowly convert over to submersed growth. The Submersed growth will have only one to two leaves per stem and will be much shorter. All clovers would be considered foreground plants.
