I have a Magnum 350 on my 120 gallon planted tank. I have an Aqua Medic Reactor 1000 on the out-take to feed Co2. I am breaking down the 120 cause I got a 300 gallon tank to replace it. The 300 will have a Eheim 2128 from my 120 and an Eheim Pro 3 which is new to filter the tank. So, I have no use to run another filter.
I was thinking of converting the Magnum 350 into a Co2 reactor by drilling a hole in the top and placing the Aqua Medic's Co2 intake tube into the Magnum 350. Then I would just fill the canister with bio balls. The water flow from the Magnum pulls from the top and out the bottom, I don't know if this would matter. I would think the the intake for the Co2 would need to be a very short tube. I would use a pre-filter on the intake to keep the filter clean.
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
