Corraline algae question

Hi I have corral one algae growing over my live rock. Does this reduce the effectiveness of the rock or will the rock still be able to filter the water? Thanks

It'll be fine. It won't cause any issues until you get to chip it off powerheads.

It's a sign of a healthy tank and also adds nice color to the rock. It's usually various shades of purple but can also be pink. In addition to the powerheads, its not alot of fun to scrape off of the glass though.
