Corydora Sterbai have red gills

I just purchase 6 Cory's today and they have red gills is this normal, ive tested my water, i have 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 6.6 ph

The fish look happy and are eating and constantly moving i might just be paranoid

Your tank water is a bit acidic for Corys. Ideally, they prefer a neutral (7) pH. But most fish will adapt. Gill tissue is very sensitive and the high acid in the water may be irritating the fish. You can raise the pH a bit by adding some pieces of driftwood and there are products that will raise the pH too. Research some company names like Kent Marine, Kordon, Seachem and Onyx.

I plan to have discus in there which is why i have the low pH thanks for the reply though as long as its not a transmitable disease im happy
