Cycling question
So, I did a test on my water today on my planted aquarium. What should be my next step be or do I just wait it out

2/9 test results:(Tuesday)
Ph 7.6
Amm 4.0
Nitrite 2.0
Nitrate 20-40...hard to pick one over the other

2/12 test results(Today)

Day 3 of the cycle, I added ammonia into the tank. I admit, I went too heavy and the next day I was testing over 8ppm. It took 3 water changes to get it to 4ppm. Since then, I've let it ride.
 
Let it sit until your ammonia drops below 1ppm then dose it back to 2ppm. Keep redosing to 2ppm until you see 0ppm ammonia and nitrite 24 hours later. This will normally take 4 to 6 weeks.

Introducing some filter media from an established tank will help speed things up. Bottled bacteria like Dr Tims one and only or seachem stability might help, but these products are hit and miss.
 
I did get some driftwood from an established tank and put it in. I have been doing with api quick start as well
