Hi all
I'm new to this
My platy is pregnant and I have the breeding tank that hangs off the back for the fry that haven't been born yet. Do I need to put plants or any gravel, etc in the breeding tank for them?
If the model you have has a slit at the bottom or slits along the sides for the babies to escape, then no. If it doesn't, you may want to put some frilly floating plants ( hornwort, java moss, etc.) in there for the fry to hide in. Gravel is not necessary in a hanging breeder tank as I described.
If the tank itself is sparsely decorated and the mother is swimming freely, you definitely want to add some floating plants for the fry to hide in.
