My tank is becoming over run with diatoms. I'm considering getting a bottle of "no more algae" even though my BNP is having a field day. Any alternatives that don't take to long? Thanks in advance

Diatoms are the plague of new tank setups. They come from excess silicates in the water that the diatoms need. If it's not a planted tank you can use Phosphate remover as it also removes silicates from the water. If it's planted just give the bnp time and it will get them cleaned up. Also cut your lights down to about 6-8 hours. Sorry but there is no quick fix for them and don't use any chemicals as they are extremely hard on tank and the inhabitants.

Diatoms will likely go away on their own after a few weeks. Just wait it out and over a span of just a couple days you'll go from having diatom algae to simply not.
