So I think I might make the switch from DIY to pressure CO2 soon, but I'm unsure what diffuser to get, what does everyone else use? One thing that I am concerned about is noise from a water pump, are they loud?

I also have a HOB filter, so I can't hook into a canister filter =(

You might want to upgrade to a canister filter first to cut down on water surface agitation then upgrade the co2 next. The money you save by making your own diffuser you can invest in the filter.

If you get a quality waterpump the only time it will be noisy is if it needs cleaning.

I tossed (actually still have it anyone wants it) my in tank reactor and picked up a 1.25 sweetwater stone instead on the advice of tom barr. the stone produces microbubbles that are sucked up by a power head i have directly above ti, and it spreads co2 mist around the tank. My tank pearls like mad now.. never did with diffuser.
