Stocking options for my 17 gallon tall. I was all set in my mind on the following

6 cardinal tetras
6 Pygmy cory
1 male fancy guppy
2 or 3 female guppy

The cories and cardinals are already in and I was just about to buy the guppies... Right up until I saw a beautiful purple coloured betta that the wife has fell in love with :S I am now torn between the guppies and the betta.

Will a betta get along with the cories and tetras?

Betta or guppies, what would you do???

:D I keep both. I love bettas so I would choose the Betta. The only thing is you will have to have a back up plan if he decided tank mates are not tolerable. If you get a Betta you can up the school of cardinals a bit.

The school of cardinals today became 5 cardinals and 5 glow light tetras. So I guess the betta might be the, erm, better option :p just hope they all get along...

Also managed to get a pair of blue dwarf gourami, 1 male 1 female for my 33g :)
