Disappointed with lack of live rock critters...

I added 30lbs of fiji live rock to start my cycle about 3 weeks ago. Im kinda discouraged because of haven't seen a single critter in my tank. When I was rinsing one of the rocks before adding it to the tank I saw some little worm type thing crawling around but that's been it. And it died shortly after adding the rock to the tank. My cycle seems to be about done. 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and 40 nitrate.

I know I need to be patient and I know there's stuff in there somewhere but I was hoping I would have seen something by now. I've been looking in the dark with a red light but no signs of life.

I guess this is just venting more than anything lol

Give it time. I started my tank about 6 months ago... I still see new things pop up (good and bad)

What did you rinse it with? You could have killed the critters......

I rinsed with tank water so that shouldn't be the problem

Mines 6 months old and in a week i went from 0-55 lil baby snails,2 starfish,and coraline begginning to grow so just wait,freshwater developes fast because things live shorter,with care some of the things in your tank can live 30years so it takes time to happen
