Do bettas mix with platys and hatchets?

I have three platys and two hatchet fish. Will a betta fit in? My fish are reasonably short fins.

You don't until you have the fish. Most are fairly peaceful, it should be fine.

Like my beta for example does fine with my fancy guppies. He never flares at them or chases them.
