They do good with both. I have a lot of potted ones with extensive root systems.

I've had a couple of these guys grow ballistic on root tabs and ferts only to hit a wall and melt after a few months.. very confusing..

Mine's not doing well and trying to figure it out. Melting. Just started dosing dry ferts a week and a half ago so maybe I will give it a little longer and see if it bounces back.
