Do i need a heater for a 2.5 gallon tank?

I was thinking about using my 2.5 gallon tank to keep my guppy fry in but i dont have a heater. Do i nee to get one for that small of a tank and?

Honestly, depends on your room temperature, and how much it fluctuates throughout the day. Where I live, the tank stays a constant 76, until further into winter, in which case I put in a heater.

With a small mass of water the temp will fluctuate wildly if given the chance. A heater will help maintain stability.
