I've heard that some shrimp jump out, and then you create a dry area for them. Should I do that?

Never seen that, but heard of it if water conditions are bad. Even when I lost some shrimp, none ever jumped out.

So I don't need to create a dry spot in his tank?

Sorry, the "Yes..." was in regards to the question in then thread title. They do not need a dry spot and yes they will dry out (and die).

One time when I cleaned my tank, he was in a tiny cup. He climbed out and I found him in the cabinet! Thankfully, he's alive and well! It was so scary!
