What is the best way to treat it an how long does it have to soak

I usually just boil driftwood. I think 15 to 20 minutes. Or you could rinse in really hot water.

Boil it is good, soak it, run it through the dishwasher, scrub it. All good options. Your still gonna have tannins and its harmless and normal.

You can add some carbon to help clear up the water.

A Aaron the problem with boiling it its to big of a piece to do

I put it in a big pot and bring to a boil , turn off heat and let sit for about 30 mins.

Hmmm. Try stopping your drain. Then fill it up with searing got water. Then let the wood sit on one side in the sink for 20 minutes. Then repeat on the other side.

I got a 150 gallon tank the drift wood is about 4ft long

Any other suggestions

Can you a large tub? Like from Home Depot or something or a large plastic garbage pail. But the wood I'm there and soak it good. You could even drill a small hole in the center and when it empties out just refill it.

The heavy duty ones are 42" tall

How long do u think I have to let it soak for

I've had the same problem. Just soak the wood in regular water or treated water?
