EBJD?? Any tips?

I've recently acquired an electric blue jack dempsey. He's about 1.1/4" long now and I've had him about 3 weeks. His growth rate is rather slow compared to a parrot cichlid that I bought at the same time. They are both in a community tank at the moment and doing fine. They are both moving on to a 29g then eventually a 75, but I have been told that the ebjd struggles to get up to size. I've fell in love with this little fella so any advice to help him on his way would be gratefully appreciated thx

Some people believe that they are hybrids and not as aggressive as a normal jack Dempsey. My advice would be to stay on top of water changes. These fish have a reputation for being delicate.
