I have 4 Egeria plants in my tank that are partially shaded by a piece of driftwood. One of the plants has turned clear at the roots and all the stems have broken off. This is now happening to two of my other Egeria.

1. What is happening to them? Dying?

2. Should I keep the stems that have broken off and are floating? Can I replant them somewhere that isn't shaded by DW? Plantgeek says this can be a floating plant as well, is that an option for these disconnected stems?
