hey, im new on here, and i just got a 55 gallon tank. i know i want at least 1 or more indian roseline shark but i dont know what else to put in there. ive been thinking i would like a schooling group of fish for the mid to top of my tank and maybe 1 or 2 bottom of my tank. i would appreciate anything suggestions. thanks.

im getting the tank this fri but to be honest, i dont know there was different ways. im kinda new at this and i thought all i had to do was set up the tank and let it run for a week or 2. help me,please. lol

There is fishless cycling. You does ammonia to 4 ppm every day until you start seeing nitrates. You can use a shrimp from the grocery store instead. All you need is an ammonia source to start off. You could also get some seeded media from an established tank and that will help you cycle faster.

ok thanks. i might be getting a little ahead of myself but do you have any ideas about what fish would work?

I have two 55 gallon tanks. One tank has two jack Dempsey cichlids and four stripped Raphael catfish. My other tank has four angel fish and one redtail black shark.

thanks. what you think about 3) indian roseline, a couple of red minor tetra and 3-eye gourami and like 2 clown loach. well thats what i want when im all done. and if im lucky maybe a red tail shark.

Do your research on them. The clowns will get too big for your tank. The red tail can get extremely aggressive. I don't know much about the other fish. Being in this hobby I found that you learn through trial and error and research, research, research.

If u want to "fish in" cycle your tank then a few feeder goldfish or a betta would work as they are somewhat tolerable to ammonia levels.
