Extremely green water in my tank

Try water changes and reducing the photo period some. I don't think that will work though. A total blackout for 3-5 days is not going to kill your plants though.

MahiMahi- No. A UV sterilizer will do nothing for hair algae.

Had green water in my 25 used algae fix and within an hour it was crystal clear only problem is it can cause a casualty or two I lost a molly when I used it.
