We bought some plant fertiliser as our plants were looking a little dull, and the bottle has no indication of how often it should be added. I have been adding a capful every two weeks. Is that too much or not enough?

What brand of fertilizer is it, and what is the name of the product? Did you try looking on the company's webpage? If you know the name of it, someone here may be able to tell you how they use it.

Also people are quick to blame lack of fertilizer when the plants start looking bad. But often this is not the case. Have you read the sticky post here about being new to planted tanks? Read that and then take a minute and read my FAQ which is partly the same information but also contains more information.

Then we need to know the size of the tank, how much light, name of the plant, name of the fertilizer, if you are testing for nitrates and phosphates, how often and how much water you are changing.

Also post with more info about exactly how the plants look, with a pic as well if possible.
