Hi guys,
Question...I have Fluval 306 canister filter on my 55gal tank, yesterday my wife brought emperor 400 HOB filter from work , so I decided to put on my tank, now they are both running...is this an overkill or there is no such thing like overfilttation....

Hello rum...

Since you have the extra filter and provided your fish and plants don't mind the added water movement, then use it. A backup filter is a good thing if one stops working. However, don't rely on the added filtration to keep the water clean, only large, weekly water changes can do this job.
