Fin rot or fin nip

Good morning I was wondering if my fish ? has fin rot or fin nip and if I should use aquarium salt

Looks like a nip to me, but nip or rot, no need for salt. Clean water & good nutrition will eventually heal up fin nips; as long as the aggression problem is solved. Melafix is a good disinfectant type med, which might speed up the healing.

Thanks. Would they sell that at petmart? I was told salt was good to help heal thats why i thought to use it.
