Ok so my tank has been set up a week and a half the first three pics are of my tank and the live rock 24 hours after setup. the last of them are from tonight. Some of my live rock have started growing a red algea is this a good thing or should i be concerned. just as a side note money is tight and this all the live rock that i could afford for now:DIMG00003-20090927-2133.jpg

ok so only four files at a time. Here are the Rest.IMG00007-20091007-1947.jpg

the next pictures are something that im not sure i should of done think back on it. I had went in to petco and they had just gotten there fish in they pulled out these two bags and the had some nice sized zoo polyps on them. on of them didn't look to good but the other looked really good. they were going to throw the bad lloking polyp away. I asked if i could take the base rock that it had they had came in on and they gave it to me. I took it home and cleaned all the dead stuff off and popped it in to my tank. When the light clicked on the next day I had 6 little zoo polyps. let me know if I messed up or got empty

was the red there when you got the rock. does it wipe off. it is probably cyano unless it was there before and does not wipe off. 1 week is too fast for that much coraline. I don't see any powerheads in the tank for circulation. That may be the problem

The algea wasn't present when I purchased the rock it has really started to come on in the last four or five days and it does wipe off. As far as the powerheads go they got back ordered on me and weren't here when I thought the would be so they should be coming in today or tomarrow. have I doom my tank to failure? what can i do about it?

no you are fine. once you get some flow in your tank it should go away. Remember the most important thing in this hobby is patience.
