First fish

I'm sure this has come up countless times, but I'm pretty new to this site. I have a 20 gal. Cycle has completed, and I have had the CUC working away for 2 wks. I also currently have a Sand Sifting Starfish. I'm looking at having a community reef tank.
My ques is what might my 1st fish be? I'm looking for colorful, yet peaceful and easy for a novice. Plus safe for my coral. I'm not particularly interested in clown fish. Thank you so much.

You'll want to return the sand sifting starfish before it dies. It's starving to death as we speak. They take months to wither away. They are not meant to be in closed systems. Especially not small ones with brand new sand beds.
