Found in filter bags

What are these things? I was doing a water change and when I pulled the filter bags out there list have been 40 if these things in the two bags. Now that I see them, I noticed one living in a rock when it's tentacles stuck out one night, but never realized there were this many.

FYI - 90 gallon tank.

Just little brittle stars. They are a big part of the clean up crew.

I always turn my filter socks inside out and pick off any pods, starfish, and worms and toss them back in.

Any idea why would have caused such a large "beaching" of these things? Never seen them before in the bags.

maybe there were eggs that hatched out in your filter bags... that is so cool. I just wish i would something like that in my filter.
