I was doing a water change on my cycled 30 gal and getting it ready for plants and fish next week when I noticed a gray fuzz on my driftwood. The wood soaked for a month in very hot tap water after being ran through the dishwasher (no soap of coarse) and then spent a couple days in tank water. It has been in the tank for about 2 weeks. As of my pwc last Monday there was no such fuzz. The wood is cherry in case anyone was wondering. Should I be concerned or just scrub it off and continue on?

I had fuzz on my first driftwood and my pleco ate all of it one night. Never came back afterwards. edit: I don't know if it was algae or what, but it was white and one morning it was all gone and replaced with a lot of pleco poop.

Not much help, but at least something? lol

It's normal and it won't harm the fish, within time it will go away.
