General Cichlid Stocking Question

Would it be possible to three 1.5 inch yellow tail acei's with a 6 inch ice blue african in a 55 gal?

I wouldn't do it.. They like to kill each other off.. They are hard to keep all at same size. Of they can fit in the ice blues mouth I wouldn't do it

Acei's aren't hard to keep, they're a milder and more peaceful type of mbuna, you don't hear of aggression issues often with them. Ice blues aren't too aggressive either, especially if you don't have a female in there, so you could probably put them together, but only if the Acei are bigger than the Ice Blue's mouth. If so, still keep a close eye on them after you add them in.
