Guppy appeared pregnant but died tonight? Was she sick?

Yesterday I noticed my guppy had a very swollen belly and was acting normal and eating fine so I assumed she was pregnant. Looked at loads of pics online and she looked just like those fish. This morning she was not eating and hiding on the bottom of the tank and the male guppy was pecking at her belly so I assumed that meant she was ready to have the fry so I isolated her in a breeding net and she just laid on the bottom breathing heavy. I came home from dinner tonight and she was dead.

Was she unhealthy and not pregnant or was she pregnant and I did something wrong??

If I knew how to post pics on here I could show what she looked like with the swollen belly.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated thanks!

Sorry to hear about your female. Had the same thing happen to my female last week, and have read about 5 posts this week about bloated guppies that die quickly. It's strange, I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or what..

my other guppies are ok so hopefully it's not contagious.
