Help me plan a tank

Ok, in the next month or 2 I will be moving into my new apartment, with a spare bedroom for the Gf and my own pets.

I will be looking for a 4ft tank but have no idea what to do with it really.

I do know that I don't want a high tech planted tank though lol!

My cousin has a Malawi cichlid coffee table which I find cool but I'm open to any ideas!

I think there may be a marine store near me

A river tank would be awesome too!

I'm looking for a 40 gal long (more room for bottom feeders )

Maybe up to 47gal with a juwel rio 180

A community is a one of the options

I do know that I want corys in the tank though

A big school of cories
Maybe a bristlenose or some SAE
A couple of schools and a centre piece fish like an angel or gourami?
Typical community setup but it works!

I love my gourami

But I would like to try angels, I've always wanted em but knew I couldn't keep em happily.
