I have now found myself caring for my Dad's freshwater tank (Discus, Gypsy King Fish, etc.) due to his recent passing. Overall, we've been able to keep up with it. However, it got a bit overdue for a cleaning the past couple of weeks, and it seems some worms or snails or the likes have moved in. I know he had a similar situation in the past but I'm unsure how he solved for it - or if they need to be removed. I assume they aren't good to have.

See attached photos where you can see some on the glass, and many more on the wood/branch within the tank. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

They look like single cell bacteria that grow in fish tanks
They aren’t the best to have in the tank but aren’t harmful
I’m not 100% but that is what happened in my tank

@fishwonder, thank you. It seems rather cloudy and no it isn't always like this. We are usually doing weekly water changes and went close to 2 weeks this past time. I think I am going to do another water change today and siphon the gravel, since it seemed pretty dirty yesterday.
