Hi I have a phosphate problem in my tank. Its quite high. Not sure what the reading are. Also I think due to the high level of phosphate I have algae. So can anyone help me in how id go about getting rid of the phosphate

its not just phosphate that will cause a growth in algae, check your ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels, that will most likely be the cause. if it in fact phosphates then you could get phosban filter media or a phosphate reactor

Hi mate cheers for the quick reply. All the other levels are fine its just the phosphate. Whats a filter media. I am new to this and not sure on all the termenology.

Gott find out where its coming from. Tested the tap water if you use that? The frozen water that cubed shrimp come in are full of it. Flake food overused can.
