I still have the hitchhiker in my aquarium and I am getting pretty desperate to get him out!

Will try out the trap tonight and hope that I will catch him.

I was unable to post the picture of my trap I made, I wonder what went wrong :-(

What kind of hitch hiker? For crab and stuff I don't know if that will work or not. Most just use a glass because it is too slick for them to crawl up the wall. With that sock they will be able to grip. I can see where it looks like the end closes up but I would be worried they can't get in.

It's a crab that I have had for some time, he is getting big and I am afraid that he will do harm to the fish and corals. The trap worked but only had hermit crabs inside. I will try again soon.... Thank you for your post.

Yea, it seems to me that a crab could get out of the trap. Have you tried the baited glass trick? That usually works.
