So last night I did a deep cleaning on all my equipment including my aqueon 75 hob filter. I pulled the pump apart and pulled the magnetic impeller out, it was covered in algae slime. Removed all slime put it all back together put it back in the tank and now it is making a lot more noise than it used to. It does seem to be flowing a lot more water so I'm wondering, is this what it was like when it was new and I just don't remember cause it's been so long since I gave it a real deep clean or could it be going bad?

Does hob stand for hang on the back? Because if so I know what your problem is. Also what type of substrate do you have?

We'll then, is it more of a humming, or more of a rapid taping? Describe the sound because different sounds mean different problems. I have an hob too.
