I got a bunch of hornwort today at the petstore. I plan on putting it in my new planted tank. I was thinking of just weighing it down, rather than planting it in my pfs substrate, or possibly atraching it to a suction cup so it can float closer to the top (dont want it actually free-floating, but wouldnt mind having it growing along the top like a floating plant).
Will it work to fasten it to a suction cup?
Also, I noticed it has lost a lot of needles between the store and home. Is this normal, does it shed those little pine needles excessively? Not sure I want such a messy plant in my tank. What would be some other good low-tech plants to provide top cover?
