How long do these fish live?

I was wondering how long mollies and platies live. My mollies were about 2" long a piece and my platies 1". I have seen in stores where the mollies are several in. long but mine have never grown that much. I have noticed my platies growing. They used to be a half in. long!

I only have 2 platys in my tank at the moment and was wondering how long they live.

I believe the average life span if all goes well is about 4 years or so. Of course I have only had mine for a year so this is from research not experience.
