How many guppies can i keep in a 38g? Ratio of male to female. Got an idea in my head but want to be sure. thanks

Are we accounting for fry explosions? 
I would do no less than m:f 1:3.
Guppies are pretty active, and adding the fact that you'll be dealing with lots of fry, I would start with 20 or so if you're going to keep fry (but you're going to have to figure out how to get around the inbreeding problem...). If you'll be pulling the fry out then ~30.
so... maybe 8-9 males and the rest females?
(I'm not a huge fan of overstocking-- plus cleanup crews are a good addition too, so I'm picturing ~30 guppies and ~5 cories/otos in the end.)

Well unless its planted, or there are a lot of hiding places, merely leaving the fry inside of the tank would take care of the inbreeding and the population problem.

Dont count the fry i have 2 seperate tanks for the guppy to give birth and 1 to raise the fry. whay a ratio of 1:3 i always thout 1:2 was fine.
