My tank has been running for about 3 weeks, it is a new tank with 4 fish, a dojo loach (I'm pretty sure) and 3 guppies. I noticed today that one had a rip in its tail! I know it wasn't there this morning, any ideas of what could've happened and is he going to die?

There should be a photo attached, the blue finned guppie has a rip in the end of its tail

Do you have the ability to set up a quarantine tank to treat him. He needs to be alone and dose him with some medical salt and slim coat and as long as he isn't stressed by other fish or have to compete for food(meaning he is alone) he should heal just fine.

Will a guppie be ok in in filtered water and in heated water? And if I don't treat him will he be fine or will he die?

My guppies get rips in their fins, as long as the tank is clean they usually heal up ok. It's one of the issues of having long flowing finned guppies.

My Guppy has healed successfully and is living still, thanks for all your help!
