I had bought a hermit crab with anemones on it without realizing how difficult anemones would be (I thought they would be more like easy corals. I was wrong.I never had any intention to have nems or corals so I didn't really research it but the crab + nem was so cool... I was very wrong.) The anemones were happily living on the crab at the lfs and stayed on the crab for a day and a half after I acclimated them to my tank (although they weren't so happy at this point but seemed to be getting better, reating to stimuli but releasing a brown film). Then tonight I came down and found them just lying on the sand bed and my crab eating what appears to be the remains of the nem on his head. I took out the two lying on the sand and put them in a bin so that they won't destroy my water if they are dead. I wasn't quite sure though because I've never seen a dead anemone? I think they inverted?
