Hope everyone impacted by Irene is fairing well. In Atlantic Canada, we are expected to be hit tomorrow night by the post tropical remnants with winds over 100km/hr.

Because we will be hit over night, in anticipation of power outages, would it help if I ran a battery air pump in the tank in case we lose power while sleeping?

Are there detrimental effects to running an air stone needlessly over night?

Thanks

That would probably be fine. Some people run airstones 24/7. Just make sure the water stays oxygenated. Also, try stirring your water every once in awhile. Good Luck.

The airstone would keep it oxygenated right?

What about Ph? Ive heard they can raise Ph, mine is stable around 8.2. if there's nothing to worry about, I'll run it over night preventatively.
