Iridescent shark in 20 gallon

*sigh* I'm discussing with a friend who wants to put her iridescent shark in a 20 gallon tank with some platies. I'm trying to tell her that these fish get FEET long, but she's just using the popular "I'll get a bigger tank xyz years later" thing. I want her to join this forum but she refuses to "because of all the crap" she'll get.

What do I do?

convince her to get a bigger tank. Thats all you can do. IMO anyone who doesnt want to deal with the fishes proper needs right when they get them doesnt deserve the fish at all.

She's not convinced. She's getting a 125 soon and is convinced the fish will be fine (running off the basis it's only 2 inches long right now) once she moves it there. It's a lost cause. Poor thing will probably live a short life from being stunted.
