Yup, but make sure it says that it comes with a heater- if not, get one. And you may also want to buy some other plants that are Betta safe. The rule is to run some pantyhose over the plant, and it catches don't use it!

I would get anywhere for a 25-50 watt heater for a 5g
I was just looking at the Walmart website and they seem to have a 10g starter kit for 10 bucks less, if it's the same Walmart.

this is the heater I have. I didn't really know your price point or gallon size you were looking for. I just posted what I bought and looked at. I wanted something small, acrylic and light weight I could move if i wanted too. Plus growing plants is nice
