Is this safe for my aquarium?

I picked up a shell from my lfs today. I seen it had something in it so I have yet to put it in my tank. It looks like some sort of star is crawling out of it now and I am very new to this saltwater thing.

I'm trying to add a picture but I can't seem to figure it out

Looks like a brittle star of some kind. If so good member of clean up crew

Wish I would get one that big for free. My LFS sells them for 12 bucks. I think that's outrageous for a brittle star. I got a few really small ones in some liverock once but I think something ate them or they died
