New here and setting up my first tank. The ambient room temp where this tank will be set up is generally between 78-80 with brief periods up to 83, but never more than that. In picking out fish species for this tank how closely should I follow the temperature guidelines given for each species? If the tank temp slips up to say 81 and I have a fish in there who's top recommended temp is 78 will this stress the fish out too much?

Also, if my higher temp range means I'll need to stay away from some of the 72-78 temp range fishes, what species would you suggest? With my anticipated temp range (78-80) what species should I specifically stay away from?

How would Gourami, Rainbows, and Angel Fish do in my higher temp range tank?

Thanks

For part of your question...Keeping fish in warmer temp than normal ranges for them increases risk of disease, and usually increases metabolism and can decrease lifespan, could cause stress or death.
