Java fern

I was wondering if it was ok to attach java fern to some arts and crafts mesh and just place it down on the substrate. Just wanted to make it a forest effect and as it reproduces I can just lift more of the mesh out of the sand and add on to it.

Should be fine as long as the stem area the fern leaves grow out of gets enough light.

That's what I'm hoping to do. Should Make for a nice decoration in the shrimp tank.
