I was picking up some dirt for a tank I'm about to start... While I was walking out of the garden section I saw this bag of "magnesium soil enhancer" bought it...

I opened it up and it's little white ball things.... Kind of chalky... I was going to lay it before the dirt. Then obviously cap it etc.. I WON'T BE PUTTING FISH IN. This is plants only.... Should I use??? Anyone have any idea?

I think if its a plant only tank it might not hurt, but you shouldn't need magnesium unless you have really soft water. I don't even dose a liquid magnesium fert in my tank at all.

Or you can go to your local Walmart/Safeway/CVS/Whatever-store and get a pound of epsom salt for $5... if you think you even need it.
